How Has the Covid-19 Pandemic Affected Patients Who Have Had to Delay Preventive Health Appointments Due to a Lack of Accessibility to Primary Care Providers?

By:

This study determines if patients could access healthcare services during the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic and if there were any health consequences due to any delay in obtaining preventive appointments. The pandemic caused healthcare delivery to change dramatically. Telemedicine became the new normal and presented many challenges for patients and medical staff. For this research study, a survey questionnaire was used to gather information about the participants' views on healthcare access during this time. The survey questionnaire was interpreted using statistical analysis, and graphic displays of the results were presented. A literature review was performed to assess if other studies were comparable to the findings of this research topic. The research study will be used to find if patients had experienced any delay in treatment for medical conditions during the covid 19 pandemic and if this caused any further anxiety or concerns due to lack of access to their physicians. Future studies would be appropriate to assess the long-term health consequences of delayed care.
